Richard Dix BA PGCE
Consultant
Richard is a self employed consultant with Wilkin Chapman Goolden and has 30 years experience as a local government solicitor and senior manager. He qualified as a solicitor in 1976 whilst at Wakefield Metropolitan District Council and then moved to North Kesteven District Council before becoming Deputy then Borough Secretary of Gedling Borough Council in 1982. He was Director of Administration of Newark and Sherwood District Council from 1986-90 and was the Councils Chief Executive until 2007.
He is a member of Solace's Human Resources Panel, a member of the Advisory Panel of the Faculty of Local Government Managers of the Institute of Leadership and Management and vice chairman of a parish council. Richard has extensive experience of working with members and officers and has advised on complex employment issues relating to senior staff, undertaken conciliation and governance work in parish councils and been an external complaints assessor relating to sensitive environmental issues.
